UTF-8 only; a file’s leading UTF-8 BOM is removed on load. Pasted U+FEFF characters count as text, and chosen trimming may remove them as whitespace. Downloads add no BOM. The output uses LF for CRLF/CR line endings. A final newline is preserved while lines remain; removing all lines produces empty text.

Understand the counts before processing

Characters count Unicode code points, including whitespace and line endings; a combined emoji may count as several. Bytes count the current text encoded as UTF-8. Empty text has 0 lines. A final newline closes the last line, without adding an extra line. Before counts use the current input; after counts use the full copy.

Word count uses word-like segments in the page language (English, Korean or Spanish). Graphemes count combined user-perceived characters. Both use browser Intl.Segmenter rules, which may vary by browser and language. Unsupported counts show “Unavailable”; no space-splitting estimate is substituted.

Choose cleanup and read the full copy

Order: trim → remove blank lines → remove duplicates. Counts describe each operation; a trimmed line may also be removed. A final newline may be added to represent a retained last blank line. Line-ending conversion applies even with all cleanup options off.

Each preview shows at most 8,000 Unicode code points. The download contains the complete copy, never the shortened preview.
