Settings to try

A4 dot grid: choose Dot grid, A4, Portrait, and Millimeters (mm). Set Spacing to 5 and Page margin to 12, choose Soft blue, and keep the 50 mm test scale checked. These are the default settings. Use Download SVG or Print / save PDF to make your page.
US Letter graph paper: choose Square grid, US Letter, Landscape, and Inches (in). Set Spacing to 0.25 and Page margin to 0.5, choose Pencil gray, and keep the 50 mm test scale checked. This gives 6.35 mm squares and 12.7 mm margins. Use Download SVG or Print / save PDF to make your page.

Print at the intended physical size

Choose the matching A4 or US Letter paper and orientation in the print dialog.
Use 100% / Actual size. Disable “Fit to page”, headers, and footers. Set margins to None.
For a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Check the preview shows one page.
Printers have different non-printable edges. Increase the page margin if marks are clipped, and measure a test print before precision work.

SVG is a vector file with physical dimensions. If another app imports it, preserve its original size.
